The weekly update - Sleeplessness

The Weekly Update - Sleeplessness

Apparently we are a culture obsessed with sleep and beset by sleeplessness, or so the newspaper says, I read today. According to this particular newspaper almost 40% of people endure at least one symptom of sleeplessness and with a quarter of them it is supposed to be chronic. In this article I'm referring to, it claims that sleeplessness is a life-long affliction for many people.

Yes, sleeplessness affects your mental and physical health, there is no doubt about it. Depriving somebody of sleep was a method of torture in the German Democratic Republic and not only there.

Sleep is not only essential to restore your immune system, it is also very important for a healthy brain. Your whole body slows down when you sleep and some organs like the liver and heart start their repairing work. When I was at university I had a friend who got a thrill out of depriving himself of sleep because it gave him hallucinations. Let me tell you, this is not a good idea because it also has a bad affect on the liver and he did fall asleep, eventually.

In fact, sleeplessness can contribute to disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

The person who wrote the article claimed that there was nothing which could help her with her sleeplessness and she also claimed that she tried EVERYTHING followed by a list of therapies and remedies. Something that was missing from her list was HOMOEOPATHY.

I want to shout out: "I can help you. There is no need to suffer because with HOMOEOPATHY there is always an answer."

I can remember one of my teachers at college. She always took an Arnica 50M after a teaching weekend because she couldn't switch off afterwards. I used that with some success in my practice. Treating sleeplessness with HOMOEOPATHY is like treating everything with HOMOEOPATHY. It is very individual. There is a homoeopathic "sleeping pill" available but it only works if it is the indicated prescription for this particular person. So it is no good here to give general advice because it depends on YOUR situation and YOUR symptoms to find the best remedy for you.

On top of that: There is always an underlying problem with sleeplessness. It might be something simple like lack of exercise, it might be something more severe, but a constitutional treatment is always a good idea in a situation like that. So go and see your health professional and don't forget: I'm here to help you with your sleeplessness.
