Global Warming

Global Warming!

The immense heat we had the last few weeks is definitely a shift in the UK weather. We had dry summers before but this year was absolutely devastating up to a point where crops were failing. And there is still no rain to speak off here.

Maybe I should not call it "Global Warming", maybe I should call it "Climate Change" even though the atmosphere is getting warmer. Some regions experience warmer weather, some more rain, some more cold weather. We cannot deny that the ice is melting and that there are fewer glaciers around and the ones that are there are smaller.

We talk about flooding and migration and what to do if and when the sea levels  rise, and maybe some of us are already rushing out to buy some drought proof plants for their gardens. This summer was definitely a lot warmer than the average summer in the U.K. I had my grass in the front garden turn brown for the first time in 12 years. No matter how climate change will affect us as an individual, it will definitely affect us as humans.

But what has climate change to do with Homoeopathy, you might wonder?

Well, the connection is that I read in the paper last week, that the melting ice might release deadly diseases which have been trapped in the permanent ice for hundreds of years. The people who have been exposed to those diseases are dead for a long time by now and nobody living today has any natural defense to the germs anymore. It is a bit like the diseases brought to the New World by the sea farers who "discovered" the New World. Native American Indians died because  of childhood diseases or just a common cold.

Can you imagine "The Black Death" of 1349 coming back to Europe? People who were fine the night before had a fever in the morning and a headache before the boils broke out under the arms, at the neck and in the groins and the would be dead in the evening. No chance to be saved by any antibiotic. By the time you  knew that you needed some it would be too late. Or you would still be on the phone to book an appointment with your GP.

This is why I'm so glad that I have Homoeopathy. It acts quickly in acute situations. The remedy needs to change as your symptoms change. Wake up with a headache and fever all of a sudden? Lachesis would be the first call or if your head was red and throbbing Belladonna would be more suitable. Keeping in mind that the bacterium Yersinia pestis affects the blood more, Lachesis would be a good choice. There would be a need for more remedies to progress through the illness until one would feel well again, but that would depend on the displayed symptoms.

Homoeopathy is the medicine of the future, not affected by antibiotic resistance and it would strengthen the immune system instead of compromising it. There are no side effects either and it always has an answer. Of course, I'm not saying that you cannot come and see me if you have anything less severe than the Black Death.
