Summertime

In The Summertime

It is summertime and time for holidays and travelling. I guess everybody experiences the problem of constipation while on holiday or traveling. Of course, constipation not only occurs while traveling but this is mostly the time when it happens even if you normally have no problems with that.

There are certain measures you can take when suffering with constipation. The key is drinking plenty of water, have a high fibre diet and some exercise. When you've tried all of this and still suffer from constipation there is always Homoeopathy to help. The top remedies for constipation are Natrum muriaticum, Silica, Ambra, Lycopodium and Nux-vomica.

Natrum muriaticum is useful when you desire salt and feel dry. Dry and hard stools are also an idication that you need this remedy. People needing this remedy are worse for heat and sun and don't like heat and sun.

Silica is indicated when you have "shy" stools which tend to slip back before they can be expelled.

Ambra is a remedy for shy people who don't want to use strange toilets and therefore suffer from constipation.

Lycopodium is for people who suffer from wind as well as constipation where the stool is very hard. There is also a sensation as if the intestines were not completely emptied.

If your constipation persists, even if you are not travelling or on holiday anymore, or the above remedies don't help you, you should seek the help of a health care practitioner. Constipation can be a sign of a serious intestinal disease.

Don't forget, Homoeopathy is a very individual medicine which takes the whole person into account, not only the symptoms.

Don't make it a battlefield.
