Another side of spring

 Back In The Garden

Now that spring is finally here I'm back in the garden, sowing, planting and getting beds ready for the plants I grew in the greenhouse. I enjoy gardening, putting tiny seeds into the soil and seeing them grow into huge plants that will feed me. I'm always amazed at the weeds. They start as tiny, pretty plants and after a while they are so big that it is difficult to pull the deep roots up. I do not always do that, sometimes they are so pretty that I just leave them.

But gardening is not always joy. Last Sunday I felt impaled when I ran my hand over the wood on the edge of a raised bed to brush some soil back and didn't see a ragged bit of wood sticking out. It was a horrible PAIN. The splinter ran straight into my palm and it felt huge. I do often get splinters into my fingers where it is easy most of the times to get them out again. With the bone to press against it, the splinter gives up willingly most of the time. This time there was no bone, just the pad of my palm. This is the time when it feels so good to have Homoeopathy. I needed a few doses of Silica before the splinter made an appearance this time but it is out now and time for Ledum to deal with the pain.

Silica is the Homoeopathic scalpel and helps to expel foreign bodies. It is very efficient but not the only Homoeopathic remedy doing that. Ledum deals with puncture wounds like an insect- or dog bite, but is also very useful for dealing with pain in nerve rich areas, like toes and fingertips. And there is Arnica of course when bruising occurred like when I fell off the compost heap. Homoeopathy is a very individual medicine, please don't forget that and the remedy you need depends on the whole picture. There are certain remedies, as mentioned above, which can help in first aid situations but if you do not get anywhere after 3 doses, please contact me on 07813 195468. On that note let's just hope that you are a bit more careful in the garden than I am.
