Time to change

The Change In You

I'm currently doing a course about the menopause and how Homoeopathy can help, as part of my continuous personal development. Even though, as being a woman and going through the menopause, I must admit that I already learned quite a lot.

What actually is the Menopause, when does it start and how do I know if I'm beginning my Menopause, might be the questions you find yourself asking.

Well, Menopause in a womans' life is when she doesn't produce an egg every month anymore because the balance of the hormones in her body change, when she stops having her period and can no longer have any children. This usually happens around the 50th birthday.

Before a woman goes into Menopause there is actually a period which is called Perimenopause. Nowadays hormonal changes start earlier and this happens because of all the hormones in our environment. Perimenopause can last for a few months or up to 10 years but usually it is about 4 years.

A normal cycle should be 28 days starting with the first day of your period, 13 cycles a year often in time with the moon, with 3-4 days of normal bleeding without any clots or pain and 3-4 days of ovulation.

So what you are looking out for is any change, even if your cycle was never like described above, because Perimenopause is often precipitated by change. Other changes like feeling tired and exhausted, allergies which come on all of a sudden, weight gain and recurring cystitis, are also possible. It is basically anything which leaves you feeling like you are not yourself anymore. Perimenopause usually starts when a woman is in her 40s but as mentioned before it can start a lot earlier.

Menopause starts when a woman didn't have her period for a year. Menopause is not an illness but it can be really uncomfortable for a woman. And all of a sudden you might find that you're not the woman you thought you were.

The Homoeopathic remedies Sepia, Pulsatilla, Lachesis and Folliculinum have a great affinity with the female hormone system and can help to get you back in balance but the right remedy depends on the individual and how the woman experiences herself.

You do not have to suffer. Give me a call on 07813 195468 if you want to know a bit more about this or to book an appointment.
