Nature's Bounty
One Apple A Day.....
I was on holiday last week which was just as well because the apples on one of my apple trees were ready to pick, so I had lots of time to pick and process them. It was up early in the morning, getting dressed and out into the garden with a bucket. The branches were laden with fruit up to breaking point.
I reckon I processed about 60 kg of fruit in my kitchen, including blisters and cuts on my hands from wielding the knife for a long time with wet or juicy hands. Well, Homoeopathy took care of that at the end of each day and to the aches and pains from stretching to pick the apples and sitting bent for hours on end to prepare them. Juicing really did my elbow in but the fresh juice was just delicious, and the apple cider vinegar is bubbling nicely. This is my first attempt to make my own apple cider vinegar and I'm looking forward to the result.
On top of that there are now jars of apple compote, apple butter and concentrated apple juice in my cupboard to enjoy for the rest of the year. And, of course, there was an apple cake as well. The tree is still fairly full so we can enjoy more apples, and more apple cake. There is another heavily laden tree in the garden with red apples which not quite ready to be picked but already palatable. You might know the saying: "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", but if you do not have any apples to keep the doctor away, try Homoeopathy. And by the way, I treat my apple trees with Homoeopathy as well.
