A stingy friend
.... Is This Friend In Seed
Last weekend I was heading out to collect nettle seeds which are full of poly-unsaturated fatty acids. They are out now and abundant to collect. After drying them for 2 days, you have to get them off their stalk by rubbing them gently between your palms. They can be eaten in salads, on your porridge in the morning or just on a sandwich. The have a nutty, crunchy taste. No need to say that they are a super food on your doorstep, locally free grown and very sustainable. Just be careful not to lose too many of them in your garden or next year you won't need to get out to harvest them.
As I mentioned last week, the Homoeopathic remedy made out of the stinging nettle is good for allergic reactions and rashes where indicated. But it can do more. It is also used in gout, chronic and acute, and gout and rheumatic pains in wrists and ankles. The main action of the remedy is nevertheless on the skin where it can help with burns and scalds. This makes it an excellent remedy to use in sunburn with intense itching and burning, and old burns that refuse to heal. Please keep in mind that Homoeopathy is a very individual medicine and that a remedy chosen must fit YOU in order to work, so please no self medication. If you think that this remedy might be the solution to your health problems, or that Homoeopathy might be your secret savior, please contact me on 07813 195468.
