It is holiday time
How To Have The Perfect Holiday
Sorry that there was no post over the last 2 weeks but I was on holiday.
We all do need a break every now and again and we want this break to be perfect, don't we? To achieve this I would suggest taking some homoeopathic remedies with you, be it a day trip or even a longer holiday.
The first remedy I would take is Arnica because it is very good when you have falls and bruises, little accidents where soft tissue gets hurt. It also helps when you just feel like you have been run over by a lorry after a long walk. In 80% of all accidents that happen, Arnica is the one which helps. Don't forget, we are talking about first aid here.
The next Must-Have is Ledum because it is ideal for puncture wounds, be it an insect bite or if you have stepped on a nail at the beach or somewhere. It is good for wounds in nerve rich areas like fingertips or toes. Again, every wound should be looked at by a professional, so we are talking about what you can do before you get to a doctor to help with pain and aid healing.
I would also go nowhere without Nux-vomica because there might always the possibility that you have an upset stomach because of spoiled food, or even a hang over from too much alcohol. And being on holiday also often means that you eat a lot more than you usually would, so an upset stomach is not out of the question.
If you visit a country with lots of sun or are planning a beach holiday, even here in the U.K., Cantharis is another Must-Have. It is brilliant for sunburns, but obviously you should avoid them in the first place. As this is not always possible, Cantharis takes away the pain and speeds up the healing.
The next useful remedy to have in your travel kit is Apis. It is good if you have been stung by a bee or wasp which can easily happen when picnicking.
Another remedy I always have with me is Staphysagria because this is the number one first aid remedy for clean cut wounds. We are talking here about wounds which are made by a knife, not graze wounds or wounds with ragged edges.
The remedy you would need for graze wounds is Calendula. This is very useful to have in your handbag, not only when you have small children, as you will notice when you have come down on asphalt or a rough surface. Please do not forget that every wound needs cleaning and medical attention. Homoeopathy is not a substitute for medical attention after an accident. Homoeopathy helps with the pain and speeds up the healing.
The last remedy I'll take with me is Hypericum. This is the number one first aid remedy for injuries to nerves. Hypericum is the ideal first aid remedy for fingers which got trapped in the car door or any other door. A throbbing finger can spoil the nicest summer day.
So here is the summary of the first aid remedies which can save your holiday: Apis, Arnica, Calendula, Cantharis, Hypericum, Ledum, Nux-vomica, Staphysagria.
You can get these remedies from Green Ginger in Corsham but please do not forget that this advice is meant as first aid, and that Homoeopathy is an individual medicine. This means that when the remedy does not work, you do not have the right remedy.
