Love Yourself - Food Part 2
I was talking about Einkorn the week before and there is a lot more to say about the grain and the homoeopathic remedy.
It was quite funny when I tried to obtain the flour. I was looking in my normal health food shop, Green Ginger in Corsham, which is excellent but even there I could not find the desired flour. I was asking for it and the answer was that they would try to get it. After looking in all supermarkets and health food shops I could reach without any success I succumbed to ordering it over the Internet. I hate ordering over the Internet, I'd rather buy stuff in shops where I can have a look at it. I thought that by ordering it over the Internet I would soon be able to bake with the flour, but nothing arrived.
I was hoping so much that I could lay my hands on this form of wheat because it is supposed to contain
- 30% more protein
- 15% less starch/carbs
- 200% more lutein
- 50% more manganese, riboflavin and zinc
- 20% more magnesium, thiamine, niacin, iron and vitamin B6
- a lot more flavour.
Growing Einkorn wheat was abandoned for a higher yield but that led to a lot of problems. The wheat which was over bred to replace Einkorn was more vulnerable to pests and diseases and needed more fertiliser. More and more people are unable to digest the modern wheat and therefore need to go gluten free. I wondered for a long time how people could become intolerant of such a staple of life, allergic to food. In researching Einkorn I found the answer.
Eventually after searching for Einkorn flour for a fortnight I found it in a heath food shop and bought 3 kilos because I thought that might be it. As soon as I had my 3 kilos I found it in Green Ginger as well and bought another pack, just to make sure that I had a good supply. Guess what, as soon as I had my hoard of flour my Internet order arrived. I'm well equipped for baking now.
The next thing I need to get now is the homoeopathic remedy of Einkorn. It might be used for people who feel abandoned or are troubled with allergies. It seems to be good for mother/daughter issues as well, and hopefully it can connect us to mother nature again. If we want to carry on living on this planet we need to turn to more sustainable, natural solutions and we need to stick together. This is our only chance. Nature can live without us but we can not live without nature and nature as it is need our care and healing for us.
I have always been an Eco wa/orrier and maybe that is one reason for becoming a homoeopath. Homoeopathy is sustainable and in line with nature. When it is produced it doesn't pollute the environment and no animals are needed to test the affect on a human body. It is not addictive and works in a gentle, but powerful way. And I know of vets who use Homoeopathy for animals and I definitely use it for my plants as well.
