To the bone

The Bone Of Contention

The comfrey is in flower again. You might have seen the pretty bushy plants with its bell shaped blue or white flowers in meadows and at the border of fields while out walking. They are usually covered with bees but I must admit that I haven't see many bees around so far this year.

This might be down to it being too cold for May or there might not be the number of bees anymore. Let's not hope that. Comfrey is not only a beautiful plant, I'm trying to grow it in my garden, but the slugs are always there first and I have to protect the new growths with rings of oat bran around it.

Comfrey has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries, mainly for the benefit of bones and injury to bones, where people used the leaf of the plant on their injury.  It was also used for swellings after injuries and strains and sprains.

In Homoeopathy it is a remedy called Symphytum officinale. This remedy helps to reunite bones after a fracture. It is very powerful so it should not be used until the bone is set properly. Symphtum officinale is not only used for broken bones and fractures but also for injuries to bones, joints, tendons, ligaments and the periosteum with excessive pain. The remedy can also be used for toothache after an injury, and for pain and swelling in the jaw after dental work or tooth extraction. It works for backache after a fall as well or for pain in the stump after an amputation.

I have to say that it is a wonderful remedy which helped a lot of my patients but as with all things Homoeopathic, no self medication please as you have to know what you are doing. I have been studying Homoeopathy for 5 years and still continue to learn, not not only to extend my knowledge but to keep up to date with new developments and remedies for your benefit. So if you think that you might benefit from this Homoeopathic remedy call me on 07813 195468 and we can talk about all aspects of your health.
